This quote from our bi-daily reading assignment struck me. It so elegantly summarizes our purpose in our coming research assignment...and really, what a fantastic synopsis of how we should treat each other in our daily lives. We are all worth each others' attention. We all deserve to be acknowledged and understood by those around us. A life is not something that should be haphazardly represented on paper as just another faceless point of view to give evidence for our one-way perspectives. We are dealing with people, just as we are; people who have experienced things that we might never imagine, things that shaped and molded their character, beliefs, biases, and worldview. We each have something to learn from these lives, it would be impossible for us not to. Later, we will have that same something to pass on to another who is willing to perceive and understand those around them in totality.
